Speed And Athletic Development Class
 

The Ethan Reeve Speed and Athletic Development Class will be held in the Bob McCreary Strength Center in the Manchester Athletic Center at Wake Forest.

Dates of Class (3 one-week sessions):

  • June 11th, 13th, and 15th
  • June 18th, 20th, and 22nd
  • June 25th, 27th, and 29th

Key Information:

  • Classes meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
  • Athletes attend from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
  • Athletes will be grouped by age, experience and gender.
  • We will have only 100 spots available for both the boys and girls classes .
  • Late Registration - First Day of Camp (We will allow athletes the first day on a first come first serve basis as long as we have room.)

Cost:

  • $90 for one week
  • $180 for two weeks
  • $270 for three weeks
  • T-shirts will be available for purchase at $10 a piece.
  • Non-refundable deposit fee is $100.00.
  • You must pay the balance prior to the first day of class.

    Who Should Attend:
    Any athlete who wants to be able to run faster, jump higher, be more flexible, attain better body awareness, balance, strength, speed, power and sport performance in his/her particular sport should attend this class. Our goal is to help each athlete maximize his or her athletic potential.

    The class will include Tumbling Drills, Hurdle Joint Mobility Drills, Cone Agility Drills, Speed Technique, Dot Drills, Low Level Plyometrics (Jump Training), Medicine Ball Throws, Olympic weightlifting techniques, Kettle-bell lifting, techniques, Squatting movements with one and both legs, Bodyweight calisthenics, Static Stretching.

    The class is designed for local athletes within driving distance of Wake Forest University. This class is also designed as a training ground for fall sports athletes to prepare for their sport while developing athleticism.

    ALL SPORTS
     
    Now in its 53rd year, the All Sports Camp continues to offer a vast array of sporting activities for boys and girls ages 6-12. From box hockey to volleyball, from archery to the climbing wall, the All Sports Camp truly does provide something for every child. As guided by an experienced and enthusiastic staff of instructors and counselors, the All Sports Camp is a must for every Piedmont youngster. The camp continues in its popularity not only due to the quality staff and top-notch facilities but the sporting and social fun that the camp format provides. Sign up your child today.     FIELD HOCKEY
     
    The mission of our camp is to ensure that all participants receive a premier camp experience based on a creative curriculum and an energetic and knowledgeable staff, while playing on a world class artificial playing surface. Campers will be exposed to the most recent coaching styles and strategies. We have an outstanding staff that includes the Wake Forest University Hockey coaches, as well as other college coaches and elite players.

    2012 Camp Dates:

    Elite Camp (12 years and older) June 28-July 1
    Team Camp (10 years and older) July 29-August 1

    Elite Camp
    Session I: June 28-July 1, 2012
    Ages: 12 years and older

    Session one will cater to individuals who have a passion for field hockey and aspire to play competitively, and perhaps at the college level. Campers will be involved in more game specific activities. Players will be encouraged to play multiple positions throughout small games situations in addition to evening tournament play. Educational sessions include individual skill development and technical and tactical development.
    Cost: $480 (Day camp: 15% discount off registration fee)

    Team and Individual Camp
    Session II: July 29-August 1, 2012
    Age: 10 years and older

    Campers who register as a team will be taught team specific strategies and tactics. Technical, tactical and mental techniques will be practiced daily. This is a great way to get your preseason off to a great start.

    Individuals are welcome in this session, and by joining this camp, players will learn field hockey skills, but also enhance their knowledge of the game by participating in on-field tactic drills. Enjoyment of the sport and team participation will be emphasized, in addition to field hockey skills. All levels of players are welcome.
    Cost: $480 (Day camp: 15% discount off registration fee)

    FOOTBALL
     
    The Jim Grobe Football Camps are held on the Wake Forest campus. Boys and young men receive professional instruction from our Wake Forest football coaching staff. Instruction includes drills and technique work in all areas of football to help develop techniques for individual and team play.

     

    2012 Camp Dates:

    Coaching Clinic March 30 & 31
    Youth Day Camps July 9-12 (ages 7 - 8th grade, $225 per person); On first day of camp, registration is at the football offices in the Manchester Athletic Center on campus.
    7 on 7 Team Passing Camp July 13 ($350 per team)
    All Position Camps (4 sessions) June 2 & 3 and July 14 & 15 (High School only, $50 in advance per camper, $70 day of camp); On day of camp, registration is at BB&T Field.

    GOLF, MALE
     

    The Jerry Haas Summer Golf Camp gives young golfers, ages 11-18, a unique opportunity to live on a college campus and learn the game of golf from some of the best in the business. Coach Haas and a staff of college coaches serve as camp counselors and golf instructors during each session. Campers receive personal instruction covering everything from short game to the rules of golf. Play and practice are at the new Wake Forest state-of-the-art practice facility on campus and Tanglewood Park. Campers stay in the Arnold Palmer residence hall. Enrollment is limited.

    Overnight camps are: June 10-14, 24-28 and July 8-12
    Day camp is: June 11-14.

    GOLF, FEMALE
     

    The 2012 Dianne Dailey Girls Golf Day Camp will be held from June 17-21. Ages for day campers run from 8-18. Participants receive professional instruction from a qualified staff of collegiate coaches and LPGA teaching professionals on Wake Forest's new state-of-the-art on-campus Arnold Palmer Golf Complex. Campers are grouped by age and skill and receive intensive instruction each day in full swing, short game and putting. Other topics include course management, rules and etiquette. Daily progress reports and videotaping are tools for encouragement during and after camp. Instruction and play take place at the Haddock Golf Center at Wake Forest and Tanglewood Park. Hours for day campers are 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. with lunch included.

    2012 Junior Girls Camp Brochure

    The 2012 Dianne Dailey Ladies Golf Camp will be held June 4-10. This camp is broken into four sessions. Sessions 1-3 are for beginner and intermediate players with Session 4 designed for more advanced players. Session 1 runs 9:00 a.m. to Noon on June 4-8 while Session 2 runs 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on June 4-8. Session 3 runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on June 4-7, and Session 4 will take place from 9:00 a.m. to Noon on June 9 and 10.

    Our camp goal is to share the love of the game with younger players. We will focus on individual ball skills and technique; players will have the opportunity to use what they learn in fun, competitive games. With quality coaching the campers will leave with a solid soccer foundation.

    "Our camp philosophy mirrors our approach to soccer at Wake Forest University. We are committed to each individual player's development from the ground up. We believe that soccer should be played with style, creativity and teamwork. Our priority in teaching is to master the ball first, then move on to competitive play and team tactics. I can assure you that our Staff will create an intense, passionate soccer environment, inspiring your daughters to reach new levels in their game. Wake Forest Girls Soccer Camp does everything at the Division I Level."

    Our facility consists of a fully-lighted stadium and two practice fields. Spry is one of the finest facilities in the country. The campus has three gated entrances which are restricted after 10pm and monitored by WFU campus police. The dorms are safe, clean, air-conditioned and just a short walk from the fields.

    TENNIS, BOYS & GIRLS


     

    The Nike Tennis Campis open to players aged 8-17. The dates are June 10-14, 17-21, 24-28, July 8-12 and 15-19. Tennis Campers are divided into small groups according to age and ability. Instruction, on and off the court, includes lectures, and match play. Each camper receives a Nike camp t-shirt. Enrollment is limited so please sign-up to get your first camp week preference. All four weeks of camp offer campers overnite and day sessions.
