The Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center is one of the athletic department's hidden jewels. The complex, which was opened in October of 1997, is the home to the Demon Deacon men's and women's tennis programs. The facility also boasts a thriving local membership program, as it is open to the local community.
Constructed at a cost of $3.5 million, the Indoor Tennis Center is located next to the University's football stadium, BB&T Field, at the corner of 32nd Street and Shorefair Drive.
The 64,000 square foot building houses eight climate-controlled indirect-lighted Mondo-Ten tennis courts with an average daily court temperature of 69 degrees. There is spectator seating for 450, and the facility also has fully-operational locker rooms, an athletic training room and a meeting area.
The facility underwent a renovation in 2008 when new courts, lights and ceiling were installed.
The Indoor Tennis Center was the recipient of the 2002 USTA Outstanding Facility Award.
