Wake Forest to Host WBCA Pink Zone Game

On February 15th, 2009 the Wake Forest Women's Basketball team is hosting the Virginia Tech Hokies at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum at 3 pm. The Women's Basketball program has partnered with the WBCA/Kay Yow Foundation to promote the WBCA Pink Zone national campaign, a breast cancer awareness initiative. In order to promote both the Pink Zone and the game, Wake Forest has also partnered with Mary Kay Cosmetics.

Fans wishing to make donations, can donate at any of the following women's games leading up to the Pink Zone game. They are:

Thursday, Feb. 5th vs. NC Central 7 pm Tuesday, Feb. 17th vs. NC State 7 pm

Fans wearing pink shirts will receive free admission to the Pink Zone game. There will also be several opportunities for fans to win prizes. There will be a Mary Kay "Kissing Booth" on the concourse where fans can sample several different types of Mary Kay Cosmetics. Fans can also make a minimum $1 donation to enter the "Best Lips in the House" halftime contest. All proceeds will benefit the WBCA/Kay Yow Foundation.

Wake Forest Athletics is also sponsoring the Chow for Yow, an auction to help raise funds for the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Foundation. Bid on dinner with Coach Mike Petersen, while helping to raise funds for this worthy cause. The bidding starts Wednesday, January 28 and will end Monday, February 9. Bidders can also donate to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Foundation and receive floor seats to the Pink Zone game. To submit your bid for dinner with Coach Petersen, send an email to millerns@wfu.edu. Proceeds will go to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Foundation. The Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer FundTM is a 501 c(3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women's cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved, and unifying people for a common cause. The Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer FundTM, in partnership with The V Foundation for Cancer Research, will raise money in the fight against women's cancers.
