Monday Morning Golf Report

Feb. 16, 2009

High winds and ran washed out any chance of a Sunday finish to the PGA Tour's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am so the finale has been pushed back until Monday.

Len Mattiace is the only former Deacon still in action as he is currently tied for 22nd after rounds of 69-72-70 have him at 5-under par. Mattiace is coming off of a solid performance last week at the Nationwide Tour's Panama Digicel Championship where he finished tied for 6th.

The other two former Deacs, Webb Simpson and Billy Andrade, missed the cut this past weekend.

On the Champions Tour, Jay Haas book-ended a solid round of 7-under 65 on Saturday with a pair of even-par 72s to finish at 7-under and tied for 18th at the Allianz Championship in Boca Raton, Fla.

Curtis Strange made his second-straight start this weekend and finished with a nice round of 1-under 71 on Sunday to finish at 2-over for the tournament.

The LPGA Tour held its first full-field tournament this past weekend at the SBC Open in Hawaii. Former Wake Forest All-American Laura Diaz had a nice start to her 2009 season finishing tied for 26th after rounds of 70-76-73.

All four major tours will be in action next weekend so check back next Monday morning for the complete wrap-up.
