WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The atmosphere in the Flow Lexus Club was akin to a home football game Sunday afternoon as the Deacon Club hosted a record crowd for Deacon Club Appreciation Day in Deacon Tower at BB&T Field.

The event took place prior to the men's basketball comeback victory vs. Pitt in the Coliseum and honored Deacon Club members for their generosity throughout the 2014-15 giving year.

"This is always one of my favorite events, but this year was especially exciting because of the turnout. It is wonderful to see so many of our members together, celebrating our fundraising efforts and supporting our student-athletes through their membership," said Associate Athletic Director of Development, Barry Faircloth.

Over 800 members registered for the event, which represents over 15% of the entire membership base. The Deacon Club Appreciation Day reception took place in the Flow Lexus Club, which is widely considered one of the finest club levels in college sports.

Those in attendance were asked to share their favorite Wake Forest athletics memory in a photo booth set up at the far end of Deacon Tower.

"My favorite memory is the 82-80 win over Carolina in the 1995 ACC Championship title game! Nothing beats 'The Shot' in my book," said Julie Griffin, prior to having her photo taken.

Many members cited the ACC Football Championship game in Jacksonville, Fla. as their favorite. Other memories varied, from a football win over Auburn in 1979 to the 2007 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship game.

The photos and moments collected during the event will be used in materials for the "Bring Back the Legacy" campaign, which will be launched by the Deacon Club later this month. Fans can also participate by sharing their favorite photos and memories on social media via the hashtag #BringItBack. More details will be communicated soon.
