WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Over 700 elementary, middle and high school students took part in the Forsyth County Special Olympics over a three day stretch last week and Wake Forest student-athletes were in the mix as volunteers for the event on Wednesday, April 25 at Kentner Stadium.

Demon Deacon student-athletes have volunteered annually at the on-campus event and helped out by manning the awards stand on day two for the elementary school participants.

The 17 student-athletes who volunteered this year represented football, field hockey, women's golf, volleyball, women's soccer, women's basketball, as well as cheer and dance. The Deacs on hand pinned ribbons on winners and participants in addition to cheering on the young athletes after their successes on the track.
