Latest Directors' Cup Standings

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest ranks 39th in the latest Directors' Cup standings, announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. The Demon Deacons finished with 342.5 total points in the final Winter Division I standings release.

Wake Forest picked up points during the winter season in men's basketball and men's track & field. The Deacons garnered 25 points from basketball and 49.5 points from track & field.

Wake Forest currently ranks sixth in the standings among ACC institutions.

The Deacons will be looking to add on more points this spring, as Wake has four teams set to compete in their respective NCAA Tournament. The men's and women's tennis teams open up postseason play this weekend, while the men's and women's golf teams will also be in NCAA Tournament action soon.

Wake Forest ranked 32nd in the previous Winter update. The Deacons were ranked as high as fifth in the Directors' Cup standings this year, climbing to the No. 5 spot in the final Fall release.

Last season, Wake Forest ranked 45th in the Directors' Cup standings. In 2006-07, the Deacons had their highest finish ever in the Directors' Cup, placing 23rd in the nation.

The Directors' Cup measures the best overall collegiate athletics programs in the country by awarding points based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports (10 women's and 10 men's). The final 2008-09 standings will be released upon the completion of all NCAA spring seasons.
