Wake Forest Partners with Ovations as Athletic Caterer/Concessionaire

June 4, 2013

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest University has announced that it is partnering with Ovations Food Service to provide catering and concessions services to all of the University's athletic venues including BB&T Field, the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Bridger Field House and Deacon Tower.

By partnering with Ovations, Wake Forest will be able to consolidate all of its food operations at each of its athletic venues under the direction of one organization. Previously, catering and concessions operations were under the direction of several different companies.

Ovations will begin operations at Wake Forest this summer and will assume responsibilities for all catering and concessions services within the next six months. Part of the transition will include evaluating all of the food offerings and customer service options in order to provide the best fan experience available.

Ovations is a nationally-recognized company with the goal of delivering fresh food and beverage with exceptional services to stadiums and arenas throughout the United States and Canada. There are over 120 properties that rely on Ovations to handle their catering and concessions needs including universities such as Texas Tech, Colorado State, VCU, George Mason and Fresno State. Ovations also services a number of major and minor league teams including the Colorado Rockies, Philadelphia Flyers, Arizona Cardinals, Jacksonville Jaguars and venues such as the Greensboro Coliseum and the Gator Bowl.

Ovations plans to introduce its Everything's FreshTM program to all of the concessions stands at each venue. This includes an investment in new equipment such as roller grills, char-broilers and topping tables so that fans can watch as their meals and snacks are prepared. Ovations will not serve food that is pre-wrapped or pre-cooked at any of the stands.

A new menu full of unique cultural and local food options will be available to all suite-holders and concessions stands. Ovations also plans to introduce new concepts in catering for large groups utilizing the banquet rooms in Bridger Field House and the Joel Coliseum.

While a national company, Ovations will be looking to make an impact locally by selecting fresh food choices from local farms, producers and small businesses. Ovations will also be looking to hire locally to help ensure a smooth transition between food providers.
