Open Letter To Deacon Club Members And Fans:

June 5, 2007

Dear Demon Deacon Supporter:

What a strong year for the Demon Deacons! Some of the young men and women who represent Wake Forest in the Gold and Black are still competing in what may end up being the best overall athletic year in school history!

The fact that these teams have had the opportunity to compete for ACC Championships, NCAA Championships, and play in a BCS Bowl Game is attributed directly to you and other Deacon Club members. Your annual support enables our coaches to offer our student-athletes the best education in the country, while also pursuing their dreams of winning championships.

Take pride in these successes. You are a part of these teams. It truly takes all of us - players, coaches, administrators, alumni and fans - to achieve the excellence we have worked so hard to obtain. While we always take time to enjoy these amazing moments as they happen, we know that now is the time to look forward to what we want to achieve next.

Still, our most important need is funding scholarships for our student-athletes. Without them we really have no program and no need for the wonderful facilities which you have helped provide. Last fiscal year was a record year for Deacon Club contributions and, for that, I express my deep appreciation to you. However to date, the gap between fund-raised scholarship dollars and actual scholarship costs is still over $2 million.

A lot more happenings and great moments are ahead! I do hope you will consider your own personal goals of giving and truly evaluate your Deacon Club level of support before this fiscal year ends on June 30. We need your support to help us meet our educational obligations to our student athletes. Please click here to renew, join for the first time, or to reinstate your Deacon Club membership.

On behalf of our student-athletes and coaches, thank you for your support of the Wake Forest University Deacon Club.

Yours at Wake Forest,

Paul Kennedy, III `82
