Athletic Communications

Summary:

The Wake Forest Athletic Communications office is seeking students who hope to gain experience in athletic communications, media relations and public relations, for the 2016 -- 2017 athletic calendar year.

Our internship program provides the opportunity to learn basic communications operations while supporting efforts during all Wake Forest sporting events. Responsibilities can include aiding the media, taking statistics, transcribing quotes, research projects, writing press releases and feature stories, photography, video filming and editing, performing interviews, graphic design, website maintenance and social media.

Requirements:

Candidates should be pursuing a bachelor's degree. Students should be dependable, responsible and able to work independently and as a member of the team both in the office, plus at athletic events on nights and weekends. Advanced knowledge of sports preferred. Candidates should have strong writing skills, including proper spelling and grammar, in addition to strong verbal communication. Any experience with creative software, such as the Adobe Creative Suite, is a bonus. Class credit and work study funds may be available.

Athletic Marketing

Summary:

The Wake Forest Athletic Marketing Volunteer Internship offers a variety of learning objectives during the athletic calendar year. We are seeking volunteer interns for the 2016 -- 2017 athletic calendar year.

Our internship program provides the opportunity to learn basic marketing operations while supporting efforts during all Wake Forest sporting events. Assist in the planning an implementation of all sport marketing plans. Assist with the planning and execution of all sport marketing events and projects. Assist in running of game-day operations for assigned sports. Create and design graphic pieces as assigned by the Assistant Directors of Marketing. Assist in disseminating information to the Wake Forest target audiences via verbal, digital, and print communication.

Requirements:

Candidates should be pursuing a bachelor's degree. Volunteers will work 6-8 hours a week in the office, plus athletic events on nights and weekends. Must possess strong communication, organizational, and team-oriented skills. Any experience with creative software, such as the Adobe Creative Suite, is a bonus. Class credit is available.
