WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - With the Wake Forest football season set to begin soon, IMG College, the school's multimedia rights partner, has announced additions to the broadcast team and updates that will add six new stations to the Wake Forest IMG Sports Network.

Veteran play-by-play man Stan Cotten returns for his 17th season as the "Voice of the Demon Deacons." The two-time NSSA North Carolina "Sportscaster of the Year" will be joined by fellow NSSA award winner Dave Goren, who will move from the sidelines into the booth this fall taking over the duties of color commentator. Goren will be in his 8th year with the network. Recent Wake Forest graduate Michael Hoag, who started 23 games for the Deacons on the offensive line in 2010 and 2011, joins the broadcast team as sideline reporter. Hoag is a recent NCAA Jim McKay Postgraduate Scholar. And Geoff Arnold returns for his second season manning the Allegacy Network Studios. Josh Nixon and John Brockwell return to the team in their respective roles as spotter/statistician and engineer/producer.

The broadcast season is set to begin on Thursday night, August 30, with the first of fourteen broadcasts of the "Jim Grobe Show" followed by the play-by-play broadcast of the Demon Deacons' season opener on Saturday, September 1, against Liberty.

"I'm looking forward to working with this team," Cotten said. "Our fans trust and like Dave Goren, and so do I. He's a broadcast pro who brings many years of covering Wake Forest to the booth. Michael Hoag might be the largest sideline reporter ever, and his girth will be matched by his enthusiasm for his role. Geoff Arnold had a great debut season with us last season from the studio, and we're thrilled to get him back. Josh Nixon is my right hand, my security blanket, and John Brockwell is as fine an engineer as there is. I can't wait to get started." Wake Forest fans will also note several additions in the affiliate station lineup. 100,000-watt FM powerhouse WBRF 98.1 in Galax, Virginia, will continue as the flagship station, and six new signals have been added to the affiliate list after FM Talk 101.1 WZTK in Burlington, NC, changed its programming from News/Talk to Hispanic.

An agreement with Truth Broadcasting of Winston-Salem will put the football and basketball game broadcasts on five of its stations down the I-40 corridor, including Winston-Salem's WEGO-AM 980. WEGO just recently launched a News/Talk format earlier in the summer. "The Eagle" will carry every Wake Forest game broadcast and all 28 coaches' shows. Other Truth stations that will carry the game broadcasts are WKEW-AM 1400 in Greensboro, WDRU-AM 1030 in Raleigh (daytime signal only), and FM translator signals 105.5 and 105.7 in Durham and Raleigh. Additionally, Deacon football and basketball fans in Charlotte will also hear the play-by-play broadcasts. WFNZ-AM 610 The Fan, a part-time member of the network several years ago, joins the Wake Forest IMG Sports Network and will carry both sports.

"We've worked very hard this spring and summer to put this station lineup together," explained Jeff Salisbury, GM of Wake Forest IMG Sports Marketing. "WBRF has been with us for years and is obviously a great station to build a network around. Debby Stringer and Kelly Epperson there have been great partners in that regard. We've worked hard with Truth Broadcasting here in Winston-Salem to keep Wake Forest on the air from Winston all the way to the Triangle. And getting back on the air down in Charlotte was a priority. We're thrilled to add WFNZ and all of the other stations for our fans."

The broadcast season will begin Thursday night, August 30, at 7:00 p.m. with the first of fourteen "Jim Grobe Show" hour-long call-in programs. The show will originate at Bib's Downtown on 5th Street in Winston-Salem and is open to the public. It can be heard on the radio locally on either WBRF FM 98.1 or WEGO-AM 980. It can also be heard free on the Internet at www.blueridgecountry98.com. Game broadcasts can also be heard on the Internet at www.wakeforestsports.com/allaccess and on Sirius/XM satellite radio.
