Deacon Student-Athletes to Collect Donations for Operation Wounded Soldier at UVA Game

Nov. 7, 2008

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest student-athletes will be collecting cash donations for the Operation Wounded Soldier program at Saturday's football game against Virginia. Student-athletes will be located at Section 14 in the east stands and section five in the west stands.

Now in its second year, Operation Wounded Soldier is a program that benefits wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Last year, several Wake Forest student athletes and coaches delivered gift boxes to the medical center in early December. Another trip is planned for this December and the donations collected will go toward the cost of the trip and the gift boxes.

All fans attending Saturday's game against the Cavaliers are encouraged to support the Wake Forest student-athletes who are trying to help our heroes recover from their battle wounds at Walter Reed Medical Center.
