Entering his 37th season at Wake Forest in 2012-13 , Doug Bland has been a staple in the Athletic Department for the better part of four decades. Bland has held several positions on campus and is currently the Associate Athletic Director for Administration.

Prior to assuming this position, Bland had served in stints as the Director of Residence Life, Associate Director of Admissions and Financial Aid and the Director of Academic Counseling for the Department of Athletics.

A native of Virginia Beach, Bland graduated from Wake Forest in 1973 with a B.A. in history. He then went on to receive his M.A. in education in 1976 from the University.

After graduation, Bland began working at his alma mater and has been at the University ever since.

Bland, an avid golfer who loves history and movies, lives in Winston-Salem with his wife, Dr. Deidre Robinson Bland. The couple has four children, Michael (31), Matthew (28), Eleanor (12), and Peter (8).
