Wake Forest IMG Sports Network Announces New Broadcast Team and Affiliates

Broadcast Season Begins Thursday, August 30

Heading the Wake Forest ISP Sports Network broadcast team again and beginning his 16th season as the "Voice of the Demon Deacons" is veteran play-by-play announcer Stan Cotten. A two-time NSSA North Carolina "Sportscaster of the Year" honoree, Cotten begins his 32st season calling college football on the radio.

Cotten is also the host of the weekly "Jim Grobe Show," presented by BB&T, an hour long call-in program, typically on Thursday nights during the season, as Cotten and Coach Grobe discuss past games, the week's opponent and take calls from fans. His bi-monthly column, 100% Cotten, appears in Gold Rush, the official newspaper for Wake Forest athletics.

Cotten is a Knoxville, Tenn., native and a graduate of the University of Tennessee. He got his start in broadcasting while in college serving as Sports Director of WIVK-FM in Knoxville, the flagship station of the Vol Network, and for three years he was also the weeknight sports anchor for WTVK/WKXT-TV in his hometown. Cotten is a three-time Tennessee Associated Press Broadcasters Association award winner.

Prior to coming to Winston-Salem he held down play-by-play stints at Carson-Newman College and Marshall University. He described the Eagles' action for twelve seasons and was on the mic while C-N was winning five national titles. Cotten moved to Huntington, W.Va., in 1992 and described the Thundering Herd's run to the I-AA national championship.

Stan joined ISP and moved to North Carolina in 1996. He resides with his wife and two daughters in Advance.
