Jay Garneau enters his fourth year at Wake Forest and his first as an Associate Director of Athletic Communications in 2017-18. Garneau is the primary media contact for baseball and men's soccer. He previously worked with football, women's soccer and men's tennis.

In the summer of 2015, Garneau worked as a press officer for USA Baseball, promoting the 12U National Team during its gold-medal run at the Baseball World Cup in Tainan, Taiwan.

Garneau came to Wake Forest from Western Illinois University, where he worked as a graduate assistant for athletic communications. In his two years at WIU, Garneau covered women's basketball, men's soccer, men's tennis and track and field as the primary contact, also assisting as the secondary football contact and editor of the football game program, Inside the Huddle.

Prior to his arrival at WIU, Garneau spent four years as a student assistant in the sports information office at Ohio Northern University. While at ONU, he also spent time as the co-sports editor for The Northern Review, a sports broadcaster for WONB Radio and the public relations intern for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The Elmhurst, Ill. native earned a master's degree from Western Illinois in 2014 and a bachelor's degree from Ohio Northern in 2012, both in sport management.

Garneau resides in Winston-Salem.
