Kate Ruley joined the athletic department in January 2017 as the Director of Sports Nutrition.

She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Chemistry from Queens University (1991) as well as a Master’s Degree in Nutrition from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (1997). Kate is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as well as the Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness and Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Associations. She is Board Certified in Sports Dietetics.

Kate is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and managing all performance nutrition services provided to student-athletes representing all athletic teams. Working closely with Wake Forest student athletes, Kate uses evidence-based strategies to review and revise their individual eating plans to help them achieve their goals and meet their needs for their sport/position, as well as enhance their overall wellbeing. By managing meals, snacks, and fueling stations for the athletics department for home and away competitions, Ruley supplies menus and products to support athlete’s training needs and to supplement their daily diet.
