Sherry Long is in her 11th year in the athletic department and her 18th at the University. She currently serves as the Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Academic Counseling.

Long is the academic counselor for a number of teams, including the Demon Deacon baseball, men's golf, women's soccer, men's and women's cross country and track & field squads.

Long has worked on campus since 1995, spending time in the sociology department, the counseling center and the office of the registrar.

Long monitors the academic performance of student-athletes, ensuring that they fulfill the undergraduate academic requirements for graduation. She also provides tutorial guidance as necessary and assists with study hall sessions.

Long earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Salem College. She resides in Winston-Salem. Her late husband Bill was a two time Wake Forest graduate. Their daughter, Jessica, graduated from Wake Forest in May 2005.

Sherry received her Master of Arts degree in liberal studies from Wake Forest in 2010.
