Barbara Walker joined the Wake Forest staff in 1999 and is now entering her 14th year in 2012-13. She serves as the Senior Associate Athletic Director with the added responsibilities of Senior Woman Administrator.

Walker oversees the sports of men's and women's soccer, volleyball, women's basketball and men's and women's tennis, plus compliance, operations, sports medicine, and student-athlete services and the indoor tennis center. Walker served three years on the NCAA Women's Soccer Committee, two of those years as Chair. She has also served on the NACDA Executive Board. She currently serves on the NCAA Honors Committee, the ACC SWA Committee, the ACC Women's Basketball Committee, the ACC Equity Committee, and ACC Men's Soccer Committee. She chairs the ACC Men's Tennis and Women's Soccer Committees.

Prior to Wake Forest, Walker spent two years at Texas as the Associate AD, eight years at Oregon as Senior Associate AD and eight years at UAB. She received her undergraduate and master's degree from Central Missouri State.

She has a daughter, Ruan, who turned 11 in April.
