Scott Wortman is in his ninth year at Wake Forest in 2014-15, serving as Director of Athletic Communications.

He joined the Demon Deacon staff in July 2006 from Ohio Northern University where he was a graduate assistant for two years.

Wortman is the primary media contact for the Demon Deacon men's basketball team and oversees the website and the athletic department's social media efforts. He also serves as the editor of Kickoff, the official football gameday magazine, as well as the Demon Deacon men's basketball game program.

Wortman has previously worked with the Wake Forest football, baseball, women's basketball, volleyball, cross country and women's golf teams.

A native of Van Wert, Ohio, Wortman graduated from Ohio Northern University in 2004 with a bachelor of arts degree in professional writing and a minor in business administration. He earned his Master's of Education degree in Sport Administration from Bowling Green State University in 2006.

Wortman is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). His 2007-08 men's basketball media guide was awarded sixth place in the nation by CoSIDA. Wortman also received the 2007 Viggo O. Nelson National Collegiate Media Guide Award from USA Volleyball. He was honored with the 2004 AVCA Great Lakes Region Grant Burger Media Award for his work with Ohio Northern volleyball.

Wortman and his wife, Elizabeth, have a four-year-old son, Evan, and a daughter Allison, who was born in July 2014.
