Scott Wortman

Scott Wortman is entering his seventh year at Wake Forest in 2012-13. Wortman currently serves as the Associate Director of Athletic Communications. He joined the Demon Deacon staff in July 2006 from Ohio Northern University where he was a graduate assistant for two years. Wortman was the Assistant Director of Media Relations during his first five years at Wake Forest before being promoted in the spring of 2011. Wortman is the primary media contact for the Demon Deacon men's basketball team and oversees the WakeForestSports.com website. He also serves as the editor of Kickoff, the official football gameday magazine, as well as the Demon Deacon men's basketball game program. Wortman has previously worked with the Wake Forest baseball, football, women's basketball, volleyball, cross country and women's golf teams. A native of Van Wert, Ohio, Wortman graduated from Ohio Northern University in 2004 with a bachelor of arts degree in professional writing and a minor in business administration. He earned his Master's of Education degree in Sport Administration from Bowling Green State University in 2006. Wortman is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). His 2007-08 men's basketball media guide was awarded sixth place in the nation by CoSIDA. Wortman also received the 2007 Viggo O. Nelson National Collegiate Media Guide Award from USA Volleyball. He was honored with the 2004 AVCA Great Lakes Region Grant Burger Media Award for his work with Ohio Northern volleyball. Wortman and his wife, Elizabeth, have one a three-year-old son, Evan. The Wortmans reside in Pfafftown with their dog, Champ. |
