"Be a lion chaser!" With Dwight, passion meets athletics in the convivial way! He cares about our student-athletes and has big plans in store for them! His background as a former Canadian Football Player, college student athlete, his 20 years of experience in college athletics, and now his 13 years here at WFU has proven his commitment to athletics. Dwight is 100% devoted to seeing Demon Deacon student-athletes mature not only as athletes and scholars, but as people with values. "Work the room!" When you need to make a connection, Skip Brown is your man. Lucky for Wake Forest student-athletes, Skip returned to WFU in the fall of 2013 and joined the Student-Athlete Development and Operations Finance teams. Skip was one of the most popular and respected Demon Deacon basketball standouts of all times, and he's now committed to getting our student-athletes connected on a professional level. Skip, who was previously President of First Community Bank and co-founder and president of TriStone Community Bank, uses his local connections to help our student-athletes learn the meaning of "networking." He believes in working hard and going after your goals, and will be the first person to help you set up a job shadowing or internship.

Ashley Wechter
Assistant Director, Student-Athlete Development

Email: wechtean@wfu.edu
Phone: (336) 758-4609

"Pay it forward!" Ashley is a true SA Development success story. During her time as a former WFU track & field and cross country student-athlete ('06) and SAAC President, Ashley tapped into all the resources SA Development had to offer. The Ohio girl launched her career in collegiate athletics by earning the ACC Futures Internship and going on to work at the NCAA. Thankfully, she believes in 'paying it forward' and brought her talents back to Wake Forest to innovate and spark new programming for SA Development. Ashley is a people person and values developing relationships. She loves being a mentor and 'big sister' to Demon Deacon student-athletes and would do anything to help them succeed... even if that means kicking them in the can every once in a while. Ashley's authenticity and genuine care for the student-athletes shines through as she helps them harness their leadership potential.
