Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

ACC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee | NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is composed of representatives of each varsity team. It meets regularly to discuss issues relevant to the quality of the experience of Wake Forest student-athletes. The SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes' lives on NCAA member institution campuses.

SAAC is our main leadership development program in athletics. SAAC is a 33-member (2-3 representatives per athletic team) group that meets monthly. The mission of the Wake Forest SAAC is to serve as a liaison between the student body, faculty, athletic department and student-athletes. SAAC seeks to enhance the student-athlete experience by providing opportunities while fostering a positive student-athlete image as representatives of the University, the ACC and the NCAA.

In 2014-15, SAAC members took on leadership roles throughout the entire academic year, including, but not limited to, participation in ACC conference meetings, serving as the host of our athletic department's Second Annual Career Development and Networking Night, visiting local elementary schools and hosting the Third Annual Black and Golden Globes.

This group is an integral part of determining which campus and community events we actively participate in, as well as spear heading "Athletes Supporting Athletes."
