WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field teams combined for four event titles and nine top-five finishes at the Wake Forest Invitational, held at the JDL Fast Track on Saturday.

Max Adams, Tesia Kempski, Alva Hicks and the women's 4x400m relay team claimed the titles for the Demon Deacons.

Adams kicked off the day with a first-place finish in the men's shot put. He threw for 15.44m (50-8), nearly three feet further than the next competitor, on his final throw of competition.

Kempski won the women's pole vault for the second time this season after clearing the 3.90m (12-9.5) bar. She also set a personal best in the event, replacing the 3.80m height she cleared at the UCS Invitational last February. Her latest mark currently sits seventh in the ACC this season.

Hicks claimed her third weight throw title in as many events after throwing 18.54m (60-10) on her fourth throw of the day. Hicks dominated the competition, as the next closest competitor threw for 15.46m (50-9.25).

The final event title came from Cydney Delley, Jordan Banks, Maya Hinton and Sarah Johnson in the women's 4x400m relay. The team finished with a time of 3:54.14, 13 seconds faster than the second-place team.

Along with four event titles, the Deacs also had nine top-five finishes.

Coming off her stellar performance in the pentathlon at the Navy Invitational, captain Jordan Banks finished fourth in the 60m hurdles. Banks finished second in prelims with a time of 9.00 before taking fourth in the finals at 9.06.
