Wake Forest will be represented at the Iowa State Classic and the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Wake Forest men's and women's track & field programs are set to compete in a pair of weekend meets Feb. 9-10.
Twenty-Eight Demon Deacons will compete at the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tennessee on Friday and Saturday while Robert Heppenstall and Sebastian Fischbach will run in the Iowa State Classic on Saturday.
Competition at the Music City Challenge begins at 4 p.m. on Friday in the field and at 10 a.m. on Saturday with the 3000m run. The Demon Deacon men at the Challenge will face challeging competition against three teams in the USTFCCCA Top-10, including Texas Tech, Alabama and Virginia Tech, while the women will face one in Minnesota. Fellow ACC schools Virginia Tech and North Carolina will also be competing in the two-day meet.
On Saturday, Fischbach will compete in the men's mile at approximately 1:05 p.m. while Heppenstall will run in the 800m around 3:55 p.m. The men's field features four teams in the USTFCCCA Top-10, including the No. 1 team Florida.
Last time out, Alva Hicks broke her own school record in the indoor weight throw and the Deacs earned seven top-five finishes at the Camel City Invitational. Tesia Kempski won her third pole vault title of the season in the Deacons' lone event title.
After this weekend, the Deacs will return to the JDL Fast Track for the final time this season for the UCS Invitational Feb. 16-17.
