GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The 61st annual Atlantic Coast Conference Honor Roll was announced today (July 6), recognizing academic excellence by student-athletes during the 2016-17 academic year. A total of 181 Demon Deacons were recognized by the conference.

The Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year.

Thirty-five student-athletes from across the conference earned ACC Honor Roll status for the fifth time, including Wake Forest football's Ryan Janvion. Janvion was also recognized earlier this year as the ACC Football Scholar Athlete of the Year while Jacori Hayes earned the ACC Men's Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year award.

Leading the way for the Demon Deacons were the track & field and cross country teams with 39 honorees, followed by men's and women's soccer (34 combined), football (33), field hockey (19), baseball (12), men's and women's basketball (12), men's and women's golf (12), volleyball (11) and men's and women's tennis (10).

The ACC set a record with 4,472 student-athletes being recognized, surpassing last year's record of 4,368.
