In 2004:
Recorded a 1-1 campaign with a 6.66 ERA... appeared in 17 games, all in relief, and struckout 19 batters in 25.2 innings pitched... tossed a scoreless inning of relief and struckout two against Memphis... picked up only victory of the season against Elon on April 28... worked 3.0 innings of relief, fanning four and walking one against Maryland on April 25.

In 2003:
Posted a 0-2 record with a 5.27 ERA and one save... appeared in 18 games, all in relief, and fanned 31 batters in just 27.1 innings... got out of the gates very quickly as a sophomore... did not give up an earned run until his sixth outing, a span of eight innings... threw scoreless relief against Notre Dame, Maryland, Duke and Georgia Tech, among others... recorded his first career save against Charlotte on March 4, for two innings of scoreless, no-hit relief in an 8-7 victory... struck out at least two batters in 11 of his 18 appearances.

In 2002:
Named by Collegiate Baseball as Honorable Mention Freshman All-American... finished the year with a perfect 3-0 mark with a 4.34 ERA... pitched exceptionally well in the NCAA Regional against Richmond, tossing three scoreless innings with four punchouts... struck out two Rice batters in one inning against Rice... struck out two Seminoles in 1.2 innings... struck out three Tar Heels in three innings.

At Grissom High School:
An outstanding athlete who was an all-region basketball player in addition to his skills on the mound... named first-team All-State in Alabama... earned Metro Pitcher of the Year honors... named first team All-City at Grissom High School... owned a 3.26 ERA with 142 strikeouts to just 38 walks... once set a school record with 16 strikeouts in one game.
