"Johnny has made great strides since last year's freshman campaign. Coming off a good summer on the Cape, he moves to third base for the Deacs. He has also put down the left-handed bat to focus on his right-handed swing. He will be a plus defender for us and provide power in the middle of our order."

Played in and started 55 games in his inaugural campaign, finishing the year with a .226 average, 12 doubles, six homers and 20 RBIs ... Hit .357 (5-for-14) during the ACC Championship (May 24-28), second on the team, with a double and home run ... Went deep twice in his collegiate debut, a 3-1 win vs. Georgetown (Feb. 19) ... Reached base in 22 consecutive games from March 5 - Apr. 16, raising his average nearly 100 points ... Also homered at Coastal Carolina (March 9), Virginia Tech (May 13), and against Virginia (May 27) and Minnesota (June 3) ... Committed just one error over his final 11 games ... Recorded 12 two-hit games ... Played summer ball with the Chatham Anglers in the Cape Cod League.
