Wake Forest's starting catcher in 2007... will look to maintain that spot this season... has the most experience among the catchers on the 2008 roster... brings high energy and intensity to each game... handles the pitching staff well and controls the running game... spent time with the Thomasville HiToms of the Coastal Plains League during the summer of 2007... majoring in mathematical business... born on Sept. 4, 1985, in Denver, Colo... son of Jay & Susan Jones.

In 2007... Played in 48 games with 34 starts behind the plate... hit .231 with three home runs and 17 RBIs... made just four errors in 301 total chances... recorded two pickoffs on the season... had a seven-game hitting streak March 2-11... drove in three runs March 2 against High Point and again March 10 against Virginia... named to the All-ACC Academic Team.

In 2006... Named to the 2006 Pepsi Baseball Classic All-Tournament team... split time with Dan Rosaia as the starting catcher... batted .221 with 21 RBIs and 33 runs... tied for second on the team with four sac flies... went 3-for-4 with four RBIs against Wright State on March 5.

In 2005 at Yavapai J.C... played one season for head coach Sky Smeltzer... batted .275 with four doubles, eight RBIs and five stolen bases... helped Yavapai capture the ACCAC title and end the season with a 44-12 record.

Prior to Wake Forest... Earned four letters at Fountain Hills High School... helped the Falcons to three Arizona State Baseball Championships... earned first team All-Arizona and all-region in 2003 and 2004... named team's Most Valuable Player in 2004... graduated in the top 10% of his class (eighth out of 220)... member of the Falcon Leadership Peer Mentor Program and the Spanish Honor Society.
