"Max is coming off a good summer on the Cape that saw him in a starting role for Chatham. At the start of the season he is a little behind in his throwing, but should be caught up by the time conference play starts. His role depends on his stuff. If he's 88-91 with an 83 mph slider as we saw opening weekend a year ago, he could find himself in the rotation."

2015 (Redshirt Sophomore)
Battled control issues after an offseason injury ... Picked up a win against App State (March 25) with a scoreless inning of work ... Struck out the only batter he faced at Clemson (March 29) ... Finished 1-0 with a 12.27 ERA in 3.2 innings over nine appearances.

2014 (Redshirt Freshman)
Appeared in 26 games while starting two ... Started his first career game against Marshall (Feb. 17) and went five innings while giving up three hits and striking out five ... Also earned the start against Radford (Feb. 23) ... Struck out at least two batters in five straight games from March 5 to March 22 ... Did not give up a run or hit from March 1 to March 12 ... Pitched a scoreless inning at North Carolina (April 13) ... Went 1.1 innings vs. Western Carolina while striking out two and not giving up an hits or runs ... Pitched in each win over No. 1 Virginia (May 16-17) ... Saw action in the play-in game of the ACC Championship against Georgia Tech(May 20) ... Playing with the Chatham Anglers in the Cape Cod League during the summer.
