A power lefty and a starter...will look to parlay his success last year into continued results in 2007... moved into the rotation after Charlie Mellies went down with an injury... started the year in relief before making nine starts to end the season... rated as the top left-handed high school pitcher in Michigan by Baseball America... throws in the low 90's from a low three-quarter arm slot... member of the National Honor Society... major is business... born on Sept. 4, 1985 in New Boston, Mich.

In 2006... Went 3-2 on the season with a 4.68 ERA... made 22 appearances and nine starts... struck out 50 batters on the season, holding opponents to just a .221 batting average... pitched 57.2 innings on the year, third-most on the team... came on in relief to play 2.2 innings against Elon on March 8, fanning two batters in the process of winning his first game of the season... struck out a season-high seven batters in his first start of the season against Virginia on March 25... gave up just two hits in five innings in the same outing to get the win... went six innings against Duke on April 15 with four strikeouts and four hits to get his third win of the season...

In 2005... Went 5-2 with a 7.43 earned run average in 33 appearances and struck out a team-high 55... the 33 appearances were the most ever for a Wake Forest freshman and the 55 strikeouts were the eighth-most by a Demon Deacon rookie... picked up one save, tossing three scoreless innings of relief in the series sweep-clinching victory over Virginia (March 6)... was untouchable in his two outings in the ACC Tournament... tossed 2.2 innings of scoreless relief against North Carolina and 2.0 scoreless innings of relief against Florida State... fanned seven in the two appearances.

Prior to Wake Forest... Earned four letters as a pitcher... earned all-state, all-region and all-league honors... participated in the Michigan High School All-Star game... recorded a 10-2 record with a 1.54 ERA as a junior... struck out 112 batters with only 12 walks... led Huron High School to a league and district championship in 2003.
