1998: Became only the fifth freshman in the 11-year George Greer era to start in the field on opening day ... platooned at third base with fellow freshman Corey Slavik ... began the season slowly at the plate, hitting just .154 (4-for-26) over the first 10 games of the year, but hit .361 (22-for-61) after that point ... also made five appearances as a pitcher, but did not pitch after a mid-season shoulder injury (Mar. 25) ... hit his first career home run in a 2-for-3 effort vs. NY Tech.
