About Souders... A finesse lefty that will provide depth and experience out of bullpen... lost some confidence in 2005, but pitched much more effectively in 2006 Black & Gold World Series... throws in the low-80's with a good changeup to complement his fast all... can throw any of his three pitches in any count... will improve as he learns to challenge hitters more... major is mathematical business... born June 2, 1984 in Berkeley, Calif.

In 2006... Went 0-0 with a 6.92 ERA in eight appearances on the season... struck out eight batters in 13.0 total innings of work... pitched 4.0 innings with two strikeouts in his only start of the season against Coastal Carolina on April 4.

In 2005... Made 12 appearances, 11 out of the bullpen... went 1-0 with an 8.80 earned run average in 15.1 innings of work... walked 18 and struck out eight... picked up only victory of season with one inning of relief against Cincinnati (Feb. 25)... went 2.2 scoreless innings of relief against Jacksonville (Feb. 19) and 2.0 scoreless innings against Winthrop (April 19)... worked 2.0 hitless innings against Cincinnati (Feb. 26).

In 2004... Pitched in 23 games all in relief and posted a 0-1 record with a 9.24 ERA... pitched three shutout innings against Appalachian State while striking out four hitters... pitch an inning of no-hit relief versus Indiana State... pitched 2.2 innings against UNC-Greensboro striking out three and not letting a runner reach base... pitched three innings at Clemson allowing just two runs... pitched two shutout innings on April 4 versus UNC... in the finale against Maryland in the ACC Tournament, pitched 1.2 innings allowing no hits and striking out two Terps.

Prior to Wake Forest... A two-time First Team All-League selection ... named team MVP as a sophomore ... played for NorCal summer team... posted a 1.70 ERA with a 7-5 record, 78 strikeouts against just 28 walks in 70.1 innings.
