"John comes to us from the football team and adds toughness and athleticism to our ballclub. He will help immediately on the bases and in the outfield. How his bat comes along after a two and a half year layoff will determine his role. At some point, he should push for serious playing time."

Played in 18 games on the season and scored three runs ... Made collegiate baseball debut against Dayton (2.21), going 0-for-2 ... Scored the game-winning run in series finale against NC State (3.21) ... Entered as a pinch runner in the eighth inning against High Point (4.7) and scored the eventual game-winning run.
