Scott Siemon earned his third save of the year after tossing the last 1.1 innings while registering three strikeouts.

John McKay (1-3) took the loss for the 49ers after allowing three runs in 5.1 innings.

Danosky, who went 4-for-5 in the game, got Wake Forest on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the fifth inning with a RBI single that plated Jason Aquilante. After the Demon Deacons pushed the lead to 3-0 with two unearned runs in the sixth, Danosky and Jon Palmieri blasted back-to-back solo home runs in the seventh inning to make the score 5-0. The round-tripper was the second of the season for Danosky and the sixth of the year for Palmieri.

UNC Charlotte battled to cut the lead to 5-2 in the top of the eighth with a two-run double by Jason Hill, but Wake Forest answered in the bottom of the frame with a two-run homer by Chase Voshell, his third of the season. Voshell finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Wake Forest will return to action when the Demon Deacons take on 5th-ranked Auburn on Friday at 6 p.m. in Montgomery, Ala.
