WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Carlos Lopez tied a career-high with six RBIs in a single game as the Wake Forest baseball team defeated Eastern Michigan 12-3 in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at Gene Hooks Field.

The win marked the seventh straight for the Deacs, as they improve to 8-4 overall on the year.

A three-RBI double for Lopez in the third inning scored the Deacs' first three runs of the day, and Pat Blair blasted a three-run home run to left field in the fourth inning to add to the Deacs' lead. Lopez also launched a two-run home run later in the fourth inning.

Mac Williamson hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to become the third Deacon of the day to go yard.

The Deacs recorded 14 hits, including three from Conor Keniry and two apiece from Charlie Morgan and Kevin Jordan.

Zach White and Daniel Marrs each made their first appearances of the season on the mound, allowing no runs over one inning of work apiece.

Wake Forest will next play their second game of today's doubleheader against Marshall at 4 p.m., and a complete recap of the entire day will be posted following the conclusion of that game.
