Baseball Defeats N.C. State, 9-1

DURHAM, N.C. - Wake Forest (37-20) pounded out 12 hits and used the solid pitching effort of starter John Hendricks to post a 9-1 victory over N.C. State. With the win, the Demon Deacons advance to face the winner of the FSU/Virginia game on Thursday.

Starting pitcher John Hendricks (12-4) stuck out six and allowed only seven hits and one earned run in nine innings. Corey Slavik led Wake's offensive attack with two hits and four RBI's. Will Rikard added a home run and three RBI's.

Jake Weber, Brad Piercy, and Josh Ballard each had two hits for the Wolfpack. Starter Dustin Baker gave up eight runs and ten hits in six and one-third innings pitched. With the loss, N.C. State falls to 37-20 on the season.
