Deacs Take Series with 7-4 Win over Maryland
Wake Forest exploded for seven runs in the top of the second inning, and that proved to be all the team would need, as the Demon Deacons defeated Maryland 7-4 in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium.
Wake Forest and Maryland Set for Last ACC Meeting
Wake Forest and Maryland will meet for the final time as ACC opponents this weekend at Gene Hooks Field at Wake Forest Baseball Park for a pivotal three-game series.
The Demon Deacons have won three-of-four ACC series this season and have won seven of the last eight games.

Last Time Out
Wake Forest scored five unanswered runs in the seventh and eighth innings as the Demon Deacons defeated High Point 10-6 on Wednesday night at Wake Forest Baseball Park.
Wake Forest was led by Will Craig who had four RBIs including a three-run home run which is his sixth of the season. He is tied for second in the ACC in home runs. Nate Mondou also homered in the game and recorded two RBIs.
The Demon Deacons drew 14 walks against High Point while the Deacs' pitching staff did not issue a walk.
With the win, Wake Forest won its 20th game of the season on April 2, which is the fastest the Deacs have hit the 20-win plateau since 2006.
Wake Forest Storylines
Jack Fischer currently leads the ACC in innings pitched with 51.1 innings this season. He has gone at least 8.0 innings in every conference start.
Charlie Morgan has been a major force for the Wake Forest offense over the past 17 games as he has 22 RBIs over that span with two home runs after only recording five RBIs in the first 12 games. He recorded his 100th career RBI on Sunday against Notre Dame.
The Demon Deacons are 11-4 in one-run games this season and are 16-0 when leading after eight innings.
The Opposition & Series History
Wake Forest leads the series with Maryland 101-57-1 which includes two wins last season in College Park.
This is the last ever ACC meeting between Wake Forest and Maryland.
Maryland is currently 5-6 in the ACC after Clemson defeated the Terrapins in two games last weekend. The third game of the series was canceled due to inclement weather.
The Demon Deacons welcome UNCG on Tuesday at 6 p.m. before heading to Chapel Hill to face North Carolina next weekend.
