A catalyst in Wake Forest’s late-season success last year ... inserted into the starting lineup in mid-February and started 12 of Wake’s final 13 games (he did not start on “Senior Day”) ... the Deacs began to gel with Murray at point guard and won eight of their final nine games, including the NIT title ... produces modest scoring statistics but has demonstrated the ability to not only score, but rebound, pass and play defense ... a versatile player capable of playing three positions (point guard, shooting guard, small forward) ... he played all three positions on the prep level ... knows how to get the ball to the open man at the right time ... one of the best defenders on the team with his size, quickness and long arms ... at 6-5, he can pose match-up problems for smaller opposing point guards ... body fat is just 4.0 percent.
1999-00
Appeared in 34 of Wake’s 36 games and started 12 games (12 of the final 13 games of the season) ... hit 12-of-13 free throw attempts against ACC competition ... averaged 24.8 minutes per game in the team’s last 15 contests, including 31 minutes against New Mexico ... was solid against Notre Dame in the NIT title game with six points, four rebounds and three assists ... dished out eight assists against Duke in the ACC Tournament semifinal ... scored eight points in ACC Tournament first-round win over North Carolina, sinking 4-of-6 shots to go with four assists ... tied a career-high by playing 35 minutes against the Tar Heels ... played 34 minutes against Duke, scoring nine points on 2-of-3 shooting and 4-of-4 free throw attempts ... scored a season-high 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds against Maryland ... scored five points, grabbed five boards and dished out four assists in 28 minutes in first meeting of the season with North Carolina ... scored seven points against Clemson ... scored eight points and was a perfect 3-of-3 from the floor and 2-of-2 from the line against Maryland-Eastern Shore.
1998-99
Rookie guard appeared in 30 of 31 contests, providing solid defense, rebounding and play-making skills … court time increased as the season progressed ... he averaged 20.5 minutes per game in the final 22 dates after playing just 8.6 mpg over the first eight games of the year … started at shooting guard for 14 straight ACC contests during the second half of the year before yielding the position to Joseph Amonett on "Senior Day" … cracked the starting lineup for the first time versus Virginia and netted a season-high 14 points and 9 rebounds with 4 assists and only 1 turnover in 35 minutes ... followed that performance with 11 points and 4 rebounds in 30 minutes in his next start at Clemson ... impressive in his first four starts (Virginia, Clemson, Duke and Georgia Tech) as he totaled 36 points and 26 rebounds (9.0 ppg/6.5 rpg) ... started and totaled 9 points on 3-of-4 shooting and added 4 rebounds in Wake Forest's homecourt win over 4th-ranked Maryland … solid throughout his first eight starts, scoring 56 points (7.0 ppg) … compiled season highs of 5 assists at Florida State and 4 steals at Duke ... opened the year with 5 points and two key steals against Illinois in 14 minutes in the Coaches vs Cancer Classic ... both steals in that contest came in OT and led to 4 points as the Deacs rallied for a 75-73 win ... finished the year with more assists (39) than turnovers (32) ... committed just two turnovers in the final seven games of the year.
High School
