Wake Forest Head Coach Jeff Bzdelik

Opening statement...
"First of all I want to thank our fans. Our fans were awesome this afternoon and we appreciate their support. It was a very hard fought, competitive game. Fortunately, at the very end there we made some timely plays offensively along with making free throws. We also had some timely stops and that was the difference in the basketball game. We competed hard and they competed hard. Fortunately we made enough plays in a timely manner to come out on top."

On the close nature of the game...
"That's going to happen when you play good basketball teams especially when they have veteran players, you know that they are coming back. You just have to keep battling as a team and I think our resolve as team and our focus has been to be tougher mentally as well as physically. I think we are seeing the fruits of our labor in working towards being tough-minded. We are working through things and showing resolve. That's a testimony to the character of the players we have on this team."

On the play of Codi Miller-McIntyre...
"He is going to learn as a player especially after the game he just had (against Virginia Tech) that he is going to be a focus. He did a really good job of not forcing things. Even though he did not have a huge game offensively I am not afraid to call his number. I have great confidence in him. Codi and Travis McKie both made big plays offensively for us in terms of free throws and shots."

On defending the three-point shot...
"We are one of the better three-point defensive field goal percentage teams in the country. It has been a focus of ours to guard the arc and make teams take tough two's. We allowed them to get to the rim too much. I think our defense is getting much better on a consistent basis."

Notre Dame Head Coach Mike Brey

Opening statement...
"You got to take your hat off to Wake Forest. They made really big shots at key times in the last couple of minutes. I love our group, again we put ourselves in position. We weren't playing that great offensively but we still found a way to be in position to maybe steal a road win. I thought Wake made big time shots. There were clutch offensive positions that took away any hope for us."

On Devin Thomas...
"Yeah he's a really good player because he has got that wide body and it's hard to get around him and then he spins off you. He is really crafty. He is just a heck of a young player in this league. I am so impressed with their sophomores. Their sophomores are really good. I think you can see them getting better and more confident with every day."

On what made it difficult offensively for Notre Dame...
"I give credit to their defense. We had some great looks early in the game. You got to make a couple of those to feel good on the road. We could never make enough three point shots to feel like you are in a pretty good groove. That's a weapon of our offense. That's a staple, we need to make some threes. I didn't think any of them were going in tonight, for some reason. We made two and when the two went in and I was shocked I just didn't think any of them were going in. Wake did a good job defending us. They got some size, length and quickness to take away angles. Sherman gave us a hope there. We were going to him a bunch, but we couldn't get much else scoring-wise."

On their zone defense...
"We play a lot of zone. It helped us, it really helped us. We kind of go back and forth. We play a little more zone on the road than we do at home. It was good to us tonight. It changed the rhythm and probably helped us get back into things. Then we felt we had to finish playing man to man because we had gotten a couple of stops in man to man but we couldn't get two key ones. If you don't get a stop at those times you are not going to win. You got to get those."

Sophomore Forward Devin Thomas

On the importance of the win over Notre Dame...
"Big game for us and a big win for us. We needed to come out strong and not have a letdown after coming off the road of our first ACC win (at Virginia Tech)."

On his role in the game...
"I made my first couple of shots, which gave me a lot of confidence. Unfortunately I missed one shot, but we still got the win."

On what other players stood out this game...
"Travis (McKie)and Coron (Williams). I think everybody stood out in their own way. It's a team effort and a team win."

On the Syracuse home game next week...
"Right now we are feeling confident coming off of a two game winning streak. We always play confident at home and Syracuse is a great team."

Senior Forward Travis McKie

On the overall game...
"You know, it was an up and down kind of game. It was kind of slow in the first half, but it picked up in the second half. It was a very close game, but we converted at the end and got away with the win."

On the last minute of the game...
"When it got tight like that, we decided to play great defense like we had been doing the whole game, and just limit them to one rebound, so the biggest thing was rebounding."

On Devin Thomas' performance...
"His performance was huge. When he's calling the ball on the court, you have to give it to him. When he's got it going, he's hard to stop. He was a big force for us today."

On the Syracuse home game next week...
"We feel very confident. We haven't lost at home yet. We feel like we have the advantage and we just have to ride the momentum."
