Postgame Quotes: Wake Forest vs. Richmond

Wake Forest Head Coach Danny Manning
"I thought we came out today and did some fairly good things on the offensive end. I didn't like the way we ended the first half. I think in our last seven possessions of the first half, we only got one stop and gave up back-to-back 3s, which was tough to guard and they have good offensive players. I think in the second half we came out and challenged them to play at a higher level, and we held them to 24 points in the second half, and when we can hold a team to that many points in a half we will start to see more success. We had a lot of different guys who made contributions for us on the offensive end, but we've got to get our bigs to come off the bench and rebound the ball. That's something we've been talking about but they have to be more productive rebounding the ball for us."
On the if the team's defense has improved...
"Well, when you look at the end product, yes. But we have to go back and watch film and make sure our attention to detail was correct and we were in our right stops and details like that. But in the second half, especially in the first six minutes yes we looked very strong."
On Doral Moore's growing improvement and strength...
"He's definitely a presence. In the first half I thought he carried us, by making 13 points and six rebounds. I think he finished with 15 and eight but he had four blocks and his presence was felt. But I think we need to continue going to him, because we miss him far too many times, personally. You know, Doral is a kind young man, but when he gets on the court and gets into position he needs to start letting people hear his voice."
Richmond Head Coach Chris Mooney
"I thought Wake Forest played well today. We didn't play well enough to challenge them. They are at their best when they are playing very freely and that was the case today. They were just able to play without any tension. I think that's when they're at their best and they're going to be hard to beat when they play like that. I wish the best of luck to them. We need to get better this week."
