Wake Forest Head Coach Jeff Bzdelik

On the win...
"Simply put, our team showed great resolve, a great will to fight all the way to the end and it turned out well for us. I'm really proud of them, extremely proud of them. I've said all along that they have great character, and they displayed that tonight."

On rebounding and turnovers...
"That was one of our keys, was to dominate the glass. In Richmond's losses this year, I believe they were minus six on the glass. We felt that we could do that. We needed to do that. Another key was not turning the ball over, and we didn't do that. They had almost 50% of their points off turnovers. We didn't do a very good job there, but give Richmond a lot of credit. They participated in that too."

On the key to the offensive game...
"One of our other keys was to be aggressive and decisive on offense. We wanted to just drive them. Richmond causes a lot of turnovers because they get up and into you. To counter that, you need to just go buy that. Basically, at the end there, we were just putting the head down and going."

On Coron Williams' play...
"He really showed his maturity. Here is a young man who Richmond did a really great job on. He never got frustrated, never got flustered at all. He was able to just keep working, keep grinding. All of a sudden he got a little air space and knocked them down. Sometimes, when younger players aren't scoring, throughout the course of the game they get frustrated. They lose their minds a little bit. They drift out of the game, but he didn't. He made a couple of big-time shots for us."

On Tyler Cavanaugh's play...
"We're talking about young players who are just ten games into their second year. Tyler [Cavanaugh] got us off to a great start, knocking down a three and a two. He got us off to a pretty good start there offensively."

On the importance of the win...
"You have to win pivotal games like this. I wrote down on the top of the board that today, these are the kind of games that, if you have the kind of season that you want to have, can put you in some post-season play in March? You just have to win these types of games. We did find a way to do it."

Richmond Head Coach Chris Mooney

Opening statement...
"I thought our defense was good and we made them take a long time to score. Eventually they had just enough time. Over time they really capitalized on the energy they created. They were getting more open shots in overtime and they made them, so congratulations to Wake."

On Wake Forest's comeback in the last five minutes of regulation...
"I'm not sure. I know we try to make sure we stay aggressive and drive the ball and not settle and stall I think we did but, we didn't make enough shots and missed a few key free throws down the stretch that would have extended the lead. I think we need to check that and stay as aggressive as possible and when you do that, things can go your way."

On Cedrick Lindsay's injury...
"It certainly didn't help. Again if we step up to the free throw line and make more it'll move points."

On getting on boards and fast breaks...
"(Wake Forest) rebounds really well and part of that is because of their big players and big lineups. They really crushed us on the backboards, which was frustrating. I thought we stopped them to an extent in the transition on the backboard. We didn't have too many answers on rebounding. I'm disappointed that they beat us so bad on the backboard."

On the play of Codi Miller-McInyre last year versus this year...
"He's a ton better and has clearly worked very hard on his game. He has so much confidence. He tries to score without being selfish but also scores in every play. He's a great player and he's also going to get better because it's clear he's working on it."

Sophomore Guard Codi Miller-McIntyre

On the win...
"I think we came out lacking focus and in the locker room. We knew this was a big win that we had to get because they beat us three years in a row, and we're at our home court so we didn't want that streak to continue. A lot of people played big tonight. [Devin Thomas] had 19 rebounds and then two big threes."

On the importance of getting a comeback win...
"We've been in this situation multiple times and we didn't want the same thing to happen. I think that's what's showing our maturity as a team. Last year I think we would have just laid down and folded but this year we fought back."

On sending the game into overtime...
"Once we knew it was going to overtime we knew we were going to win it. We needed that extra few minutes to get going, so once we knew we were going to overtime, we already knew the game was over."

On getting a win before the break next week...
"It's extremely big. It's kind of like a stress reliever--a little bit of happiness before we go into these exams."
