WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest swept the weekly Atlantic Coast Conference honors on Monday. Sophomore guard Jeff Teague was named the ACC Player of the Week, while freshman forward Al-Farouq Aminu earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors. Teague was named ACC Player of the Week for the second straight time after leading the Demon Deacons to wins at Boston College and Clemson. In Wake Forest's 83-63 win at Boston College on Wednesday, Teague scored a game-high 29 points, going 10-for-17 from the field and 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. Teague followed with 24 points in the Deacons' 78-68 win at No. 10/9-ranked Clemson on Saturday. He led the team with five assists and also had two steals on the defensive end against the Tigers. On the season, Teague is leading the team with 21.4 points and 4.0 assists per game. Over his last four games, Teague is averaging 29.3 points per game. He becomes the first Deacon since Chris Paul in 2004-05 to win multiple ACC Player of the Week awards. Aminu receives ACC Rookie of the Week honors for the third time this season after winning the award previously on Dec. 1 and again on Jan. 5. Against Boston College, Aminu scored 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting. He also pulled down eight rebounds and dished out four assists without a single turnover. At Clemson, Aminu posted his sixth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. He also had four blocks and shot 6-for-10 from the field. On the season, Aminu is leading the team with 8.8 rebounds per game and is scoring 12.8 points per game. He is shooting 54.6 percent from the floor and leads the Deacs with 26 blocks. Aminu, Teague (2007-08) and Paul (2003-04) are the only Deacons in the past 10 seasons to win multiple ACC Rookie of the Week awards. Wake Forest is 16-0 overall and 3-0 in the ACC this season. The Demon Deacons moved to the No. 1 ranking in each the Associated Press Poll and the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll on Monday. Wake returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 21, when the Deacs host Virginia Tech at 7 p.m.
