WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Orlando Magic traded former Demon Deacon Ishmael Smith to the Milwaukee Bucks at Thursday's NBA trade deadline.

Smith was part of a six-player deal in which the Magic traded Smith, J.J. Redick and Gustavo Ayon to the Bucks in exchange for Tobias Harris, Doran Lamb and Beno Udrih.

In his third season in the NBA, Smith joins his fifth franchise in the Bucks. He has also played for the Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, Golden State Warriors and the Magic.

Smith appeared in 36 games and made three starts this season for an Orlando Magic team that currently sits fourth in the Southeast Division. The point guard averaged 2.4 points, 1.6 assists and 1.3 rebounds in 10.5 minutes per game.

Smith joins a Bucks team that is 26-27 overall and third in the Central Division. The Bucks are a potential playoff contender as they currently hold the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference.

Smith will join the Bucks when they host the former Wake Forest teammate Jeff Teague and the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday as Milwaukee looks for its first victory since returning from the All-Star break.
