WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will honor its senior players C.J. Harris, Spencer Jennings and Will Murphy along with its senior student managers in a pre-game ceremony before Saturday's tipoff against Maryland.
Harris will go down as one of the most productive players in school history. The four-year starter ranks 19th at Wake Forest with 1,537 career points and is fifth all-time in minutes played. Harris also ranks in the top 10 in school history in free throws, 3-point field goals and games started. As a career 83.6 percent free throw shooter, Harris ranks sixth all-time at Wake Forest and 25th in ACC history. Last season, the guard was a third team All-ACC selection after ranking fourth in the conference with 16.7 points per game.
The Winston-Salem, N.C. native was recently named the ACC Player of the Week after leading the Deacons to an upset of No. 2-ranked Miami. On the season, Harris is averaging 14.9 points per game to rank seventh in the ACC. Harris also leads the league in free throw percentage at 85.5 percent on the year.
As a hard-working member of the scout team in practice, senior guard Spencer Jennings is set to earn his second varsity letter with the Deacons after joining the squad in the fall of 2010. The Midland, Mich. native has appeared in 10 career games over the past two seasons, including seven in ACC play and six games this year.
Will Murphy, a senior guard from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is set to earn his first varsity letter with the Deacons after serving as a valuable member of the scout team in practice.
In their fourth season as student managers for the Demon Deacon basketball program, Michael Cassidy, Blake Krienke and Scott Richardson will also be acknowledged during the ceremony.
The Senior Day ceremony will take place with 12 minutes left on the pre-game clock.
The Deacons will host the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday at noon. Saturday will also be Chris Paul Day presented by Lowe's Home Improvement with the retiring of Chris Paul's No. 3 jersey at halftime. The game will be televised on the ACC Network and can also be heard on the Wake Forest IMG Sports Network.
