WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will play home and away with Duke, North Carolina, NC State and Clemson next season as the ACC announced the Demon Deacons' men's basketball conference opponents for 2013-14 today.
The Deacons will host Duke, North Carolina, NC State, Clemson, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Florida State, Georgia Tech and Boston College in 2013-14. They will travel to Duke, North Carolina, NC State, Clemson, Miami, Pittsburgh, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Maryland.
Wake Forest will play twice in the regular season against all three of its Big Four rivals, Duke, North Carolina and NC State, for the first time since the ACC expansion of 2004.
Next season will mark the entrance of Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Syracuse to the conference. The Demon Deacons will travel to face the Panthers in the first-ever game between the two schools.
Wake Forest will host Notre Dame and Syracuse at Joel Coliseum. The Deacons have faced each opponent only once before, beating the Fighting Irish in the final of the 2000 NIT and falling to the Orange in the 2001 Preseason NIT.
The Demon Deacons will return eight scholarship players and four starters from this year's squad, including All-ACC honoree Travis McKie (13.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg) and ACC All-Freshman Team selection Devin Thomas (9.1 ppg, 7.5 rpg).
