COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Wake Forest incoming freshman guard Chaundee Brown was one of 28 players selected to participate at the 2017 USA Basketball Men’s U19 World Cup Team training camp. The camp will be held June 18-25 at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and will be used to select the squad that will represent the United States at the 2017 FIBA U19 World Championship in Egypt in July.

Wake Forest head coach Danny Manning is an assistant coach for the team, which is led by Kentucky head coach John Calipari.

Brown was the 2017 Gatorade Player of the Year in Florida after concluding a standout career at First Academy in Orlando. A consensus four-star recruit, he is the No. 31 player in the class of 2017 by and is the highest ranked recruit to join the Demon Deacons since 2008.

“It is a great feeling to be selected for this camp,” said Brown. “I went to a camp last year, got cut, but it was a great learning experience. I’m going out there with a new attitude and I’m in better shape. It is always an honor when you wear the USA on your chest. A lot of people don’t get that opportunity, but I know I am blessed to have this chance.”

If selected for the team, Brown would become the first Wake Forest player to represent the United States at the FIBA U19 World Championship.
