Wake Forest Announces Tentative 2012-13 ACC Basketball Schedule

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest has announced its tentative 2012-13 ACC men's basketball schedule, which features an 18-game slate for the first time in league history.
The tentative league schedule lists games as either a mid-week or weekend contest. Mid-week games can be played on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, while weekend games will be played on either Saturday or Sunday.
The exact dates, tip-off times and television broadcast information for the Deacons' conference games will be released later this summer when the ACC announces each team's entire 2012-13 schedule.
Wake Forest will play home-and-home series with Boston College, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, NC State and Virginia Tech this upcoming season
The Deacons will also host Miami and Virginia and travel to Clemson and North Carolina for one-game series in 2012-13.
Wake Forest is set to open the 2012-13 ACC season against Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium on the weekend of Jan. 5/6. The Deacons will host their home conference opener against Virginia on Jan. 8, 9 or 10.
Wake Forest will be idle during the mid-week of Feb. 20, leading up to its home game with Miami the following weekend.
The 2013 ACC Tournament will be held March 14-17 at the Greensboro Coliseum.
As part of the ACC's new 18-game schedule rotation, NC State and Wake Forest are primary partners and will play a home-and-home series every season.
As previously announced, Wake Forest will host Nebraska in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Tuesday, Nov. 27. The Deacons will also square off against perennial power Connecticut in the opening round of the Paradise Jam on Nov. 16 in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The remainder of Wake Forest's non-conference schedule will be released in conjunction with the official ACC announcement later this summer.
Wake Forest, who finished last season 13-18 overall, welcomes back the ACC's top two leading returning scorers in senior C.J. Harris (16.7 ppg in 2011-12) and junior Travis McKie (16.1 ppg).
