WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - With the 2012 London Olympic Games winding down, two Demon Deacons remained in action on Wednesday, as Chris Paul and Darius Songaila competed in the men's basketball quarterfinals.

Paul and the United States defeated Australia 119-86 in the quarterfinal round on Monday. Paul saw over 26 minutes of action on the floor and scored seven points in the contest. He dished out three assists and registered five steals in the game, as the U.S. moves on to the semifinal round trying to claim a second-straight gold medal.

Songaila tallied 15 points on Wednesday as Lithuania was eliminated in the knockout stage by Russia 83-74. Songaila had five rebounds and three steals while going 7-for-7 from the free throw line. Lithuania made it a close game, but Russia pulled away in the final minute to earn a trip to the semifinals.

Team USA will face Argentina in the semifinals on Friday at 4 p.m. (ET) on the NBC Sports Network. The winner of the game will play either Spain or Russia in the gold medal game on Sunday at 10 a.m. (ET).
