Rodney Rogers Open the Gate Video

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Former Wake Forest basketball standout Rodney Rogers was the Open the Gate honoree at the Demon Deacons' football game against Elon on Saturday, Sept. 19. Click here to watch Rogers' Open the Gate preview video.

Much like the ceremonial throwing out of the first pitch at a baseball game, Wake Forest started a tradition last season of having a celebrity/alum "open the gate" at BB&T Field. Prior to coming onto the field in the moments before the opening kickoff, the Deacons assemble behind a black wrought iron gate. The "gatekeeper" then opens the gate to allow the Deacons to storm onto the field.
