Wake Forest Basketball to Hold Black & Gold Madness

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest fans will get their first look at the 2010-11 Demon Deacon men's and women's basketball squads on Saturday, Oct. 23, as the teams will host "Black & Gold Madness" at 9 p.m. in Reynolds Gymnasium.

Admission to Black & Gold Madness is free and open to the public. Doors open at 8 p.m., and seating is first come, first served.

The men's and women's teams will both be introduced to the crowd and will participate in a contest with several Wake Forest students. The men will also play a 10-minute scrimmage and hold a dunk contest to be judged by the fans.

Women's head coach Mike Petersen, men's head coach Jeff Bzdelik and the team captains will all address the fans in attendance.

The 2010-11 men's basketball poster will be unveiled at the event.

The Wake Forest men will open the 2010-11 regular season, as well as the Jeff Bzdelik Era, against Stetson on Friday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. at the Lawrence Joel Coliseum.

The Deacon women will begin their season two days later when they host North Carolina Central on Sunday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Lawrence Joel Coliseum.
