SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Wake Forest junior Bryant Crawford was named to the preseason watch list for the Bob Cousy Award, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Monday. Crawford is one of 20 players selected to the watch list for the award, annually given to the nation’s top point guard.

Crawford averaged 16.2 points and 5.5 assists per game last season and is the only returning player in the ACC to average at least 15 points and five assists a game. He had two 20-and-10 games, including becoming the first Demon Deacon to accomplish the feat with points and assists in a NCAA Tournament game against Kansas State in the First Four.

By mid-February, the watch list of 20 players for the 2018 Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award will be narrowed to just 10. In March, five finalists will be presented to Mr. Cousy and the Hall of Fame’s selection committee. The winner of the 2018 Bob Cousy Award will be presented at the ESPN College Basketball Awards Show presented by Wendy’s in Los Angeles, Calif., on Friday, April 6, 2018.

Joining Crawford on the watch list are Collin Sexton (Alabama), Manu Lacomte (Baylor), Jalen Adams (Connecticut), Trevon Duval (Duke), Jordan Bohannon (Iowa), DeVonte Graham (Kansas), Quentin Snider (Louisville), Nate Mason (Minnesota), Joel Berry II (North Carolina), Bryant McIntosh (Northwestern), Matt Farrell (Notre Dame), Trae Young (Oklahoma), Kyon Cartwright (Providence), Shake Milton (SMU), Jaylen Adams (St. Bonaventure), Jordan McLaughlin (USC), Jalen Brunson (Villanova), Jevon Carter (West Virginia) and Landry Shamet (Wichita State).
